ECOLOGICAL PROJECT BP-EC9 IN BOLIVIA

Volunteer Project in Bolivia

BP-EC9

Description:

This volunteer project in Bolvia is an environmental educational center dedicated to children of local schools and national and international tourists. It is located at about 4 hours from the city of La Paz, in the town Chulumani. The center used to be a coca-, coffee- and citrus farm and is now an important resource for conservation, biodiversity and sustainable resource management. Next to a botanical garden, where self-guided and guided tours are on offer, there is also a biodiversity museum and a lodge where tourists can stay. Special events for school children are offered regularly.

Activities:

This volunteer project in Bolivia is looking for enthusiastic volunteers who will be involved in a number of activities, such as working in the biodiversity museum, helping out in the butterfly gardens, working in the nursery and assisting in the ecological project of coffee- and honey producers of the Yungas region.

Requirements:

If you would like to volunteer in Bolivia for this project, you need to comply with the following requirements:

  • Intermediate to advanced level of Spanish
  • Enthusiasm and motivation
  • Interest in ecological projects
  • Nature lover
  • Be able to work in teams

Minimum:

Volunteers need to commit to a period of 4 weeks minimum.

Work Schedule:

Volunteers work from Monday through Friday. Your working hours will be from 8 to 12 and 15 to 18 hours.

Spanish:

It is important for all volunteers to speak Spanish to a conversational level. The better your Spanish skills, the more enjoyable your volunteer experience will be. We recommend volunteers with no prior knowledge of Spanish to take Spanish classes before starting their volunteer program in Bolivia. A Spanish course in La Paz can be prearranged. Please ask for further information.
